I agree with Don in this respect, college kids are NOT ready for major
market radio no matter how good their pipes are they still have way too
much to learn before cracking the major market nut........regarding the
"that's the stuff you learn through experience" I again agree....problem
is the business is not like it was when you and I got into it, there are
fewer and fewer stations in smaller markets to cut your teeth in.  
Years ago when the monopolistic laws first began to take effect an
unidentified radio broadcaster wrote to Dean Johnson and predicted that
once those of us with experience retire or give up there will be no one
with talent and polish to take our places because there are fewer and
fewer stations that are willing or able to be the "training" ground.  And
so it has come to pass.....
