I would say people in their 20s especially wouldn't understand the sock hop 
idea.  Hey, I'm in my early 50s and I always thought that whole sock 
hop/poodle skirts & DA/blue suede radio thing was more than a bit 
trite.  Certainly wasn't an era that I could ever relate to...never had any 
desire to look like Fonzy!  Interesting to note that you've also moved away 
from pre-British invasion oldies, and are also focusing on roughly the era 
that commercial oldies stations are concentrating on (albeit with a deeper 
library).  Kind of tells me Oldies 103 and the like are on the right track.
