Actually, no, I was not on last Saturday due to the rainstorm.  I've sat out
in that trailer on a cold rainy night in the past - with no one around -
trying to sound bubbly - it doesn't work.  I talked to our weatherman
Saturday morning - he assured me that it would be an awful night
weatherwise, so I opted to go out with family for dinner and reprogrammed
the automation to play "Best of Joy Brown".

I WILL be on this week (since Sat is my 50th birthday - ahhhhhhh!) and it
will also be the last show of the season and probably the FINAL Saturday
Night Sock Hop EVER!  Now this doesn't mean that I won't be doing a Saturday
night show from either the Chelmsford or new Lowell Gary's Ice Cream Shops
next summer, but I think that the Sock Hop concept has pretty much worn
itself out.  Many people (even some in their 20's) seem perplexed by the
term "sock hop" and don't understand the whole idea.  I haven't played 50's
music for the past year but rather concentrate on 1963 - 1979, and in many
cases the more obscure top-40 hits that Oldies-103 does not play (except on
Barry Scott's show).

Hope some or all of you can come by for the last show this Saturday night
(Aug 31) - birthday presents are not necessary (heeheehee).
