Agreed - although those numbers, be definition, exclude the on-campus
audience. WBRS has - for better or worse - always been more concerned
about on-campus rather than off-campus. There's a vague mandate from the
Dean's office to be that way, and of course it's also easier to program
that way, and when you're only 25 watts you ain't reaching that far
off-campus either.
Personally I think the policy is wrong, though.
Also, the major contributing factor to WBRS and WMFO's bottom-of-the-barrel
ratings is the persistent dead air for six to ten hours per day, often
sprinkled here there and everywhere. Based on my time there, I doubt WMFO
is doing much to solve it, but I know WBRS is going to solve it by
Christmas with the installation of a new automation system.
