i'm like you, and Dan, in this regard.  my watch is 
pretty steady for a 12 dollar Timex, and i do reset it 
for the second or three it gains every few weeks.
however, the last time i checked, most of Maine does not 
rely on WBLM for their painstaking accuracy in time 
keeping, or lack thereof. ;-)
and yeah, Dan raised a valid point about the Patriots.  
but i'm sure the first time they miss the opening 
network commercial avail, the clock will be fixed.  and 
to be safe, most radio networks give countdowns that 
start many, many minutes before airtime to give all of 
the various affiliates a chance to sync their clocks.
