In my experience with Patriots broadcasts (the past 4
seasons), WBCN has not provided a countdown of any
sort prior to games. WBCN audio (whatever they have
on the air) has been fed down the sat ch. starting
sometime in the hour preceding the network join time.
Their opening billboard will start at the top (or
bottom if appropriate) of the hour, give or take a few
milliseconds. A public service message for those who
may be running the board for Patriots broadcasts for
the first time this season...

P.S. This same technique has been used by WBZ for
their Bruins broadcasts as well.
