RE: V66 (WVJV-TV)

Among the "homegrown" and more memorable V66 videos was the one for the
local band The Stompers. I believe the song was named "East End Girls,"
not one of their biggest hits. The video consisted of lots of shots of
local neighborhood locations, especially around East Boston. That was
the home town of Stompers' leader Sal Baglio. The video opened with the
words, "East Boston Is Not An Airport." That was very cool to those of
us who lived in and around the North-End/East-Boston/Revere area.

Although I wasn't an avid V66 viewer, I had an appreciation for their
role in local programming, and I thought they did a great job of it.
MTV's mix of music seemed to suit my tastes a little better at the time.
However, it was a treat for me to get to watch John Garabedian's
afternoon show on V66, especially being a "John H" fan from the WMEX
days.

I did manage to purchase a V66 T-shirt, which I still own. Even though
it seems to have shrunk a few sizes (There's no way that I might have
grown some sizes since then!), I would never part with it.
