FW: CCU

Sorry...I realized I never sent this CCU item to the list:
(It's in response to a question posed 3/15 by Dan Strassberg.)

Covington is where all of the "Radio" stuff happens. Randy is in Covington,
when he's not traveling around messing with station's processing... and the
CC music divison, the guys and girls that maintain the "unified clear
channel library" which is distributed via the WAN is based in Covington,
after it's move from San Antonio last year.

The "Unified Library" is an interesting thing... all of the CC stations that
use out of market voice tracks must have the EXACT same library, so the
intro and outro markers and times match. So, all of the stations that are on
Prophet are issued a "unified library" with the exact same "cart numbers"
and intro times.

Can someone please explain what the U in Clear Channel's ticker symbol
stands for?

And as I understand it, even after the acquisition of Jacor, CCU's corporate
HQ remains in San Antonio. So what activities are conducted at what used to
be Jacor's HQ in Covington, KY--across the Ohio River from Cincinnati? Is
this location now simply the home of the Cincinnati cluster? Are there fewer
people working in Covington now than there were when it was Jacor's HQ? And
where is Randy's office now?
