only one problem, Bob.  WROR did that already. (all save 
U2...)  that was when it was "The Songs You Remember 
from the 60's, 70's & 80's."
also tossed in the disco era and plenty of motown/r&b...
the numbers didn't wash.  (although there was one GREAT 
summer trend from '97 that was excellent; that was when 
the entire, available playlist was put into rotation... 
nothin' was held back for dayparting/seasonal, etc...
we were going three days without hearing the same song 
twice.)  don't even ask me WHY they stopped while they 
were ahead... someone got it in their head that the 
station was indeed doing great and THEY could make it 
better.

for what it's worth, the current "Greatest Hits of the 
60's & 70's" is delivering a very consistent audience.  
and the mix sounds great.  it's a treat to show up at 
work and crank up the tunes.  and this is from a guy who 
works the playlist on a regular basis.
