Well, if I'm not mistaken WEAV and WXPS(FM) are now
simulcasting, and they're doing an all talk format set
up by owner Clear Channel. In fact, when CC set this
up, they yanked Rush Limbaugh's affiliation from WKDR
(where he apparently had been carried for years) and
put the show on this new "FM" talk outlet (I could go
on for an hour why they should've turned WXPS into a
pre-fab "Kiss-FM" station, and in Burlington I think
that Kiss-FM approach would actually get some pretty
good ratings, as I have never been impressed with
WXXX's CHR approach). And as far as FM talkers are
concerned, I think we all know about their lack of
real ratings success thus far. The previous book
before the fall they were still running a Smooth Jazz
format, which is what those numbers are from. I don't
recall what exactly WEAV was running before this talk
simulcast was set up, I think they may even have been
simulcasting WXPS's smooth jazz format. WKDR, last I
knew was still talk radio, and with the departure of
Rush Limbaugh, I'm sure that has not fared well for
them ratingswise.
