WKTQ (was tv on radio)

I always found it funny that WKTQ was licensed to South Paris.  There is no
municipality of South Paris, Maine, the municipality is simply Paris.  The
village area of town is commonly  referred to as South Paris, but there's no
official designation.

Is it unusual for a radio station to be licensed to an informal geographic
designation and not to an official municipality?
