Re: ratings




Those numbers seem correct to me. I remember seeing the same graph.

The mention of TOTN is interesting. NPR conducted a series of major
studies to find out just why people were tuning out at 2 p.m. up and down
the east coast. Many (including Jane Christo) blamed TOTN and, once he
became host, Juan Williams.

But the NPR research showed that TOTN got great ratings on the West Coast
where it began at 11 AM local time. 

The conclusion: 2-4 p.m. is radio dead-time. 

I don't know how true it is, but the pieces sure seem to add up.
