At WABI there have actually been complaints from
listeners when a game is not carried.  Even when
people are making it to the games a lot of the time
they will carry a radio with them so that they can
hear the their favortie sprtscaster do "color".  I
used to work security at Bangor Rams football games
last year and the outer fence would be line with
people and about half of them had a small radio with
them that they were using ti poick up the game... 
Well, that and listening to any other games that WZON
may have been carrying at the time.  it would be
intersting to know EXACTLY how many people are
loistening to the games, tho.
