Re: Update on WCAT

Hello All:

When I was programming WXLO, the Citadel plan was to "split simulcast"
WORC-FM and WCAT-FM with the hybrid 60's 70's Oldies format that was airing
on WORC FM. When we upgraded the facility to digital, we purchased a
seperate Scott Studios system to ONLY run spots for CAT when WORC-FM was in
a stopset. So, the music would be the same, only seperate spots would air on
each station. The Scott that was purchased had a small hard drive, suitable
only for spots and IDs, and was not set up to run a music on harddrive
format.

When I left Worcester, the system was NOT operational, due to the fact that
they could not provide audio to Athol. The powers that be were discussing
different methods of sending audio, including a T1 and a dedicated microwave
link.

As I haven't been there for over a year, I don't know what CAT-FM is
running, but I can tell you that the hardware was purchased, and when I took
my leave, it was sitting in a rack in the WORC-FM studio.
