"Butch from Cape" dies; donation info

He wasn't a host, but he was well known on local and
national sports talk radio: that caller known as
"Butch from the Cape". Love him or hate him, he always
pushed the buttons of sports talk fans; even Red Sox
fans like myself found ourselves chuckling and
laughing at his pro-Yankee, anti-Red Sox rants. He was
deemed the greatest caller in sports talk radio.

"Butch" died this morning at 5 am after fighting
renal cell cancer. WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan"
had a heartfelt tribute to him. Funeral arrangements
are forthcoming, but they did mention that donations
in memory of "Butch" can be made to:

One caller to Dennis and Callahan's show: "I know
what you're thinking-- Butch never lived to see the
Red Sox win the World Series. But you know what he'd
say to that: 'youse guys never will, either'".
