I noticed that too: W. didn't seem to want to say much at the outset,
and in the first hours, Secretary Powell in Peru gave a better sound
bite than President Bush did.  W. really seems to be, as he described
himself in his GOP convention speech, "a quiet man".  And yet I found
his invocation of the 23rd Psalm in Tuesday night's address touching.
