I guess so. Their release didn't mention any problem with capacity. I am a
non-digital subscriber and there are 56 channel currently in use, plus 6 pay
channels. I am not sure what the capacity of the local system is, but they
have added 3 or 4 channels in the last year. They also have some marginal
channels that they could drop for FoxNet. They also carry ESPN News, which
NESN carries much of time. I am generally satisfied with SusCom. They offer
a good package of channels, for a lower price than Time Warner and Adelphia
do in neighboring towns. I wonder when SusCom will sell their local system
to Time Warner or Adelphia. Those two companies control the rest of the
state and the local system is SusCom's only Maine holding.
My complaint with the SusCom is their delay in upgrading the system in
Bowdoinham so we can get digital cable and high speed Internet access.
SusCom has upgraded most of their system in our area, but not Bowdoinham. It
was supposed to be done last summer, but keeps getting put off. They
promised to make the upgraded in their recent franchise agreement, but a firm
deadline was not included. I am afraid we will have to wait until a year
before the agreement runs out in 6 years.
