Well, Ames had these (Magnavox) for $15 and a slightly
better one (forget brand) for $20...plus some sort of
RCA model for $40 or so.

These aren't VHF only; VHF/UHF/FM.

When I bought my 19" TV recently (an RCA), the
manual said I could get an indoor antenna from
them for 50 bucks!!

Thanks! Was just curious. Sure sounded like a scam
when I used to see those ads years ago.
