Forgot about Goulet at the Cap. He probably still has a coffee mug
out back near the water cooler. If anyone ever worked there, count on
evidence of such _somewhere_ there.
Add to that, a little known fact confirmed to me by the late Ike
Cohen, Ray Goulding (of Bob & Ray, long since moved on from the Lowell
market) was a friend of Ike's. Ray was the first voice, June 10,
1951.
Best Bob & Ray line: (I may have the players reversed in the bit)
Bob: It's time to play, "You tell me the answer, I'll tell you the
questions."
<the go through a couple then...>
Bob: Hey, you're on a roll!
Ray: Why is there butter on my pants?
I've heard this from a few news types, that if a voicer is being
introduced and the lead-in pretty much cops the entire bit, then the
bit is played, that's called "a Bob & Ray line." Am I correct in
that?
Ex: Nx: The witness at the blaze said that the fire was taller than
the tree tops.
Sound: "The blaze was taller than the tree tops."
