I find myself doing most of my (little) DXing in the car these days.
You really need to have an outside antenna to pull in the interesting
FM, and even for AM most buildings have such a high noise floor these
days that it's a win just to get away from the computers, halogen
lamps, dimmer switches, and whatnot, even given the reduced
sensitivity of the typical car tuner.

My new car (a Honda Accord) has one of those new-fangled
antenna-in-the-rear-window jobs.  I don't yet have enough experience
with it to compare with the traditional whip.
