American Family trumps NPR?
MSNBC is reporting today that American Family Radio was awarded a 90.5
FM in Lafayette, LA, bouncing off NPR's 90.5 Lake Charles, LA
translator serving 70K potential audience. The story describes FCC
rules that say a "full-power station" can take over (what appears to
be in this story) a translator. In this case, American Family Radio
apparantly forced two NPR translators to go dark by putting on a
station on that frequency in Lafayette, LA. Counter-moves are
expected.
