 You may be right because at that time I didn't make a one-to-one 
comparison.  But the Pulitzer(tm)Award-winning Lawrence Eagle Tribune ran
a lengthy story on the 99.9 operation and didn't mention a simulcast on an
X-band frequency...but they may not be aware of any AM's above 1490
(WHAV, Haverhill).

Sorry to burst your  bubble, but 1670AM was simulcasting with the pirate
on 99.9FM that got shut down about a year ago!
