Doubt it. John Mainelli can swing his consultant sword
all he wants but there is one huge omission there --
the overall listening has dropped significantly
in NY metro since last summer. Everyone's feeling it
not just Stern. Where these people are going
is anyone's guess. Probably spending more time
talking on their cell phones now that there are so
many affordable plans with 'free minutes'. Mel's(he lobbied hard
in Albany) recently passed Cell Phone Law should bring most of
them back starting December 1st.....Or maybe Viacom will acquire
all the cell phone providers so it compensates for the shrinking
radio listening...
Anyway, Stern's only down a 0.2 in 12+ from the winter(6.5 to 6.3) and
is back at #1. He's still #1 in 25-54 in 8.6(dowm from 10.3 a\
year ago). He's in a virtual tie with Hot 97 among 18-34(11.3
and 11.6).
