WHEB-AM 750 Portsmouth NH

How long has WHEB 750 AM Portsmouth NH been off the air. If I recall they
disappeared around 1980, maybe sooner. Does any one rememeber the
circumstances. 
I remember them always being on about an hour after local sunset as they
signed off at sunset Atlanta time.  Although I was never much into getting
QSL cards from stations, I got one from WHEB AM, signed by CE Tony
Vaccaro, or something like that.
