Re: Ted Sarand_A_s

I stand by what I said about the spelling. I once heard Ted carry on for
about 15 minutes on the air over how hardly anyone ever spelled his name
correctly. His in-studio guest during this rant was Fred Smerlis (I suppose
that could be Smerlas), a friend of Ted's who, I think, used to play for
the Patriots. Fred often appeared on Ted's show and is--I presume--also
of Greek extraction. But who knows? After years of fighting a losing battle
on the spelling of his name, maybe Ted decided that if he couldn't lick 'em,
he'd join 'em, and legally changed the spelling of his name to the way
everybody insisted on spelling it.

I really sympathize with Ted on this issue. Very few people spell my last
name correctly either.
