The Bruins and AM 1510

The Bruins were actually on 'KKU for only one season -- 89/90, going to the
Finals and falling to the Oilers for the second time in three years.
A power outage (nothing like the one that cancelled
Game 4 in 1988) during a heartbreaking loss a in 3-overtime Game2 at the
old Garden pretty much ended their run at the Cup that year.

The following season the Black+Gold moved over to AM 590 which was owned
by the Celtics Partnership. Noble returned AM 1510 to simulcasting
WSSH-FM for a brief period before leasing it out to Spanish-language broadcasters.
The C's actually made the deal with WVBF-FM to carry some 20 Bruins games whenever
there was same night conflict with the C's broadcasts on AM 590.

AM 1510 bankrupted Mariner. It was a financial drain for Noble, Communicom and One On One.
Now, Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures will give it a try...
