When I worked in Dover, NH...we, for a few years, had an owner 
who was also the mayor of the city.  To his credit he never once 
tried to influence the news coverage...even when he was arrested a 
few years alter for molesting young boys! 
The only problems I've ever had came from certain sales people.  
Anytime a story came out putting one of their clients in a bad 
light...all hell would break out.  Fortunately, that has never 
happened with my current employers.
