Entercom demands shutdown of Howie fan site

I forget whether this has been mentioned on the list, but Entercom has
apparently wrote to the proprietor of the independent fan site
http://www.howiecarr.com to demand that it be shut down.

This is, of course, a stupid proposition guaranteed to offend Internet
users and generate an ongoing source of bad publicity for the company.
Fuji TV and Ragdoll Entertainment have found that out when they tried to
quash sites about their TV shows ("Iron Chef" and "Teletubbies").

Another bit of Howie-promotion is being curtailed too: the ABC radio
network's web site is no longer streaming a new Howie show in RealAudio
every weekday evening; the show on their site is now a month old. It's a
pity: cutting out the show's daily web replay reduces its audience. But
if Entercom wants that, they deserve it.
