tibbetts tidbit

On November 30 the press room in the New Hampshire State House was
officially named The Donn Tibbetts Press Room.  I believe this was in
recognition of his many years as Union Leader State House bureau chief
rather than his many years in New Hampshire radio or his role as New
England's first TV DJ (The Don Tibbetts Show, WMUR-TV, 1954).  Tibbetts
died November 27, 1998.

Speaking of radio people who went on to prominent newspaper roles,
yesterday's Boston Globe noted the coming retirement of managing editor
for news operations Thomas F. Mulvoy, Jr.  The paper says his journalism
career began as WPLM's news director in 1965.
