What could Mel do with 1010? Many people have suggested doing this in the
past (blowing up one of the two all-news stations), but, as others have
indicated, it would be a foolish thing to do, since both are among the
highest billers. Even with the overhead difference, could one all-news
station and a non-news signal still clear enough money?
Does 880 have that much of a superior signal to WINS? At least the WCBS calls
will continue to live on the FM side.
