Scott Saloway is thinking along the right lines...but had the wrong
station when he claimed WFMU is the only FM station transmitting
from the historic Armstrong tower in Alpine, NJ.

WFMU's tower is on First Mountain in one of the Oranges (West Orange?)
near Newark, at the same site that's home to WFME 94.7 and was home
to WVNJ-FM 100.3 in the seventies.  

The one on the Armstrong tower is WFDU (89.1), licensed to Teaneck and
operated by Fairleigh Dickinson University, share-time with WNYU at
New York University.

The Armstrong site is a must visit for anyone heading to the NYC area!
