Re: Wgan letting voters decide programming?

of course the decision was probably made sixty or ninety days ago, depending
on the amount of time required to dump out of the syndication contract. the
fall book is starting, and apparently, the WGAN numbers are lagging
somewhere. obviously, they're not hurting in the Rush department, and with
the advent of the television show of everybody's favorite advice-giver <hurts
to grin after typing that> being carried/protested here in portland, then
it's probably not "her". i happen to like Rick Emerson, but of the three,
he's gone. toast. history. strap his behind to a saturn three-stage rocket
and launch him.
by putting the "vote" out there, WGAN is able to wring its sorry little
hands in saying that, "...well, the listeners decided. i'm sorry you'll miss
his show.".
it's a ploy. and it does reinforce that which they, WGAN, CAN do so
well, which is provide some pretty good election coverage. the key word
being "elections". so they capitalize on both the Survivor "hot topic" and
the upcoming elections.

just one of many changes coming down in portland this week.
