Re: Radio on Radio
Get used to it, because you will hear more and more about it on the
radio in the months to come. According to an article in this week's
R&R, many of the car companies will be touting the fact that their
vehicle radios are satellite-compatible in their radio advertising. In
addition, XM will place spot ads inviting people to sign up for the
service. Many of the major conglomerates have some stake in XM, so
these ads will pop up on the corporate-owned signals. Since the major
chains are part owners of, and are providing some of the programming for
XM, satellite radio is an extention of their business, so it will take
off, and it will have a profound effect on radio listening habits.
