Re: WMEX to end all-local talk
Wow Dan - that's harsh! : ) Hopefully I'm not in "that" generation!
Seriously tho - WMEX has pulled off something that some 1,000 watt AM'ers
have been able to pull off and that's doing decent radio. Most on this list
"honor" those "old-timers" from radio more often than not...and while
Marjorie and Upton aren't old by any stretch of the imagination...they are
when it comes to exp. in the world of Boston radio.
As for programming...Personally...I've done my best to listen to the Morning
Show on MEX for sometime...for a number of reasons:
1. It made business news easier to swallow. What I mean is it wasn't just
stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. It actually talked about Boston Business.
2. It was "sponsored" by my former employer - The Boston Business Journal
which has an outstanding reputation in the business and journalistic
community. Maybe sponsored is the wrong term, considering they ran the Wall
Street Journal reports during the BBJ Morning Show...who knows, right?
Needless to say...whenever this change takes place on WMEX - it will be
another disappointment in the radio department in Boston. But, we're all
suckers for punnishment when it comes to that.
