        To expand and clarify a little, the signal is not going silent. The
sports format and calls on WSCR / 1160 is moving to 670 and the 1160
facility will be sold. But it is like the end of WNBC, in a lot of
respects. WMAQ and the Merchandise Mart studios was NBC's third major
program originator in the network radio days (with NY and LA), and it's
done. Some of us in N.E., if unsplashed by WFAN or WRKO,  may be able to
hear the final broadcast, as the article infers that the changeover will be
at midnight July 31-Aug. 1. The station's very likely not on the internet,
due to Karmazanism.
