Predictions: Today's FCC ownership rulings

These according to Cynthia Turner's Cynopsis:

1. The FCC may permit TV/newspaper cross-ownership in the largest markets.
(My comment: This could, as stated earlier, make the Herald an attractive
partner for either Tribune or Hearst/Argyle.)

2. The 35% US coverage cap for local TV groups will be remain in place.

3. Viacom will be able to keep UPN; NBC will be allowed to retain
part-ownership of PAX.

4. A "big four" network will *not* be allowed to own another.

Take care,
Chris
