Re: Rant About LPFM

Well, the spacing and decimal "differences" are an easy accomodation: many
of my radios have a 10/9 kHz switch, and they tune to both odd and even
frequencies on the FM side. Modulation is standardized throughout the world.
But sure, there are varying standards on all manner of things worldwide:
"mains" power, postal codes, cell phones, and the side of the road on which
driving normally occurs; none of which makes a case for adopting a system
for digital broadcasting that's not only exclusively ours, but one that is
clearly inferior to all the others.
One would think that of the hoards of people trying to make the US more
European, at least a few among them would have demanded normalization of the
radio band so that when their One World Govenment vision becomes a reality,
they wouldn't have so much trouble speaking to the masses! :-)
