        Rereading mine, perhaps it's open to misinterpretation. I just
meant that in that era of the radio business it had not yet become that
commonplace for stations, even larger stations, to be on 24 hours. I didn't
mean there was any relation between the Cold War/atom bomb testing era and
that fact of radio history.
        The whole reason I sent the post was basically that I thought this
historic fact might go by some of the younger people here, because 24/7 is
now expected of almost any station. I thought they might miss the
significance of what Dan was talking about--that this bunch of Class I
stations suddenly were staying on all night, but it was actually done to
serve the wishes/commands (which was it?) of the government.
