That would have to be correct, like with the other thread on WXKS
(AM) shifting from COL Medford to Everett. WCCC (AM) originally was
licensed to Hartford, certainly, until recent years. Except this is a
daytimer! The new signal must really be bad if they had to change the COL
to meet the signal minimum. WCCC shows on the FCC database with "planned
but unapplied for" nighttime power of 21 watts. But, IIRC, former daytimers
with micro-power that low don't have any minimum signal requirements to
meet for the nighttime signal, so they would not have had to change the COL
to plan for that.
There are cases like this and WXKS all over the place, and one is
just down the road from WCCC. The 1550 now licensed to Bloomfield (Disney)
is another. It used to be a daytimer licensed to West Hartford, but when it
first got nighttime power, they had to change the COL because the night
signal isn't good enough in West Hartford.
