Well, not really. 1600, licensed to East Longmeadow was WTYM ("Time
Music over Springfield") Middle of the Road until 1977, when they went
Country as WIXY. They were live during AM drive, the rest of the day,
Schafer Automation.

This went on for a good piece of the 80's, but after Wilke-Schwartz sold
'em, night time operation ceased the towers taken down and removed to
make way for a future shopping mall, and the simulcast began. They have
never strayed from the simulcast... there had been talk of trying Radio
AAHS or Disney at some point, that all never materialized. The frequency
has been used to occasionally warehouse call letters for Saga. Yes, it's
still on the air, sometimes with dead carrier after sunset.
