The interference issue was more than a canard. It could have been a problem
if first and second adjacency separations had been scrapped as proposed in
Rodger Skinner's original petition.
I believe you'll find the NAB is no different than the ABA, NEA, or the
Teamsters: they're a trade group/lobbying organization looking out for their
member's best interests. And that almost always reduces to being
money-based.
In that respect, the NAB scored a big victory. LPFM, as it is currently
crafted, will have no more of an economic impact on commercial broadcasting
than does college radio or the Traveler's Information Service.
