Re: Altering Live TV Pictures
This talk of "competing logos (etc.) on other
networks"
brings to mind some things:
--an old Dean Martin roast on NBC (forget whom they
were saluting) had CBS chairman William S. Paley
speaking; when he finished he turned his back to
the camera and on his back there was a big CBS
"eye".
--a sketch on the CBC's "Royal Canadian Air Farce"
had Roger Abbott as Wilford Brimley, doing his "it's
the right thing to do" shtick, and "Brimley" got
mad at the CBC symbol in the lower right hand corner
of the screen. He started to rail against such things,
as the screen soon filled with more CBC logos plus
other logos (CTV, NBC, CNN, CBS, TSN--The Sports
Network, etc.). Soon the image was all logos.
I'm sure there are moments when a network or one of
its affiliates runs, say, a sports highlight that
features the competing network's logo in it. So not
only would Ch. 4 (CBS) be running a football highlight
with "Courtesy Fox TV" splashed on the screen, but
they'd also be showing the Fox logo during the
highlight...
