WPTR's signal?

What has happened to WPTR's signal over the years? They were so loud in the
sixties, here near Springfield, Mass. When buying a GE 10 transistor radio
at Zayre's in Springfield in 1966, I tried it out inside the store and
could get, as I expected, only 2 stations, WHYN & WPTR. Dissapointed as I
was inside the building, when outside the store, the radio "got them all".

PTR was always louder then KB here back then but recently (the last 20
years or so) has faded way down. Anybody with thoughts on this?
