Re: WMGA (Was Re: 1150 call letters)



I haven't checked the soil conductivity around Moultree. The Atlanta area
has some of the worst soil conductivity in the U.S. but I don't think that's
true of the rest of Georgia. The night signal to the west will be almost as
strong as the day signal. And with decent soil conductivity, 900W at 580
easily puts a listenable signal 30 miles away. However, the interference at
night is likely to make the signal unlistenable to all but the dedicated
radio geek. Undoubtedly, WMGA will have a few daytime listeners in Albany;
they probably do now on 1130.
