WBZ transmitter

I'm taking the liberty, which I usually don't, of passing along a
message that Peter Casey of WBZ radio sent just to me, apparently, in
response to my earlier post here about what maintenance exactly they're
doing on their towers.

Dan Strassberg, please note--according to your theory, Uncle Mel
gets to save a bunch of money, compared to new towers, without waiting for
a hurricane to collect insurance. Waiting like that's probably a bad bet,
anyway, as those towers have survived a bunch of hurricanes by now,
including a couple in which the eye of the storm went just about right over
their site <g>.

Removal of paint, painting, additional guy wires, etc. Making sure they
last another 60 years. It was either this or replace them.
