satellite problems...

We must be entering a time of year where satelitte
transmissions are interrupted by some sort of glitch,
as I've noticed problems on several stations on my
cable TV (ESPN, ESPN2, Disney, A & E, Fox Family),
usually in the late afternoon. The signal gets all
sorts of interference and gets "snowy", then may
vanish totally--minutes later it's back, all back to
normal.

That also happened to me in years past when I'd been
driving up in Vermont, looking at the foliage and
listening to baseball playoffs on the radio. The CBS
(it was CBS then, not ESPN) signal (broadcast of the
game) would suddenly disappear--the local station
would throw on some ads and then the signal would be
back, but it would sound like someone on the phone,
not a clear connection.

After a few minutes, the normal quality of the signal
would return. Again, I assume this time of year
creates
some sort of problem for satellite transmissions.
