I'm not sure if they still do this, but I remember a
radio station in Montpelier or Barre (1240? 1450?)
carried Montreal Expos games for awhile. (Of course,
the Expos have a farm team in Burlington, VT
anyway...)

I'm not sure what sort of say the Red Sox have in
markets that far away from Boston. The Yankees have
appeared on radio stations in Worcester, Cape Cod,
Providence, and Burlington, VT. The Mets are in
Western Mass. and the Burlington, VT market. I think
the Yanks were also carried on WZON in Bangor (when
they were owned by-- horrors!--die-hard Sox fan
Stephen King)... Anyway,
I think once you get 40 or 50 miles away from a team's
home, you probably don't need permission to carry a
rival team's games (at least on RADIO...not sure about
TV...)
