WPHX cranks it up

WPHX hasn't increased power yet (if informal mobile testing is any 
indication) but the processing has been cranked bigtime.  Mindich alluded to 
the move in his introductory message to Portland Phoenix readers in the 
premiere issue.  He said the power increase would be in two steps, the first 
of which was to occur at 6PM this past Thursday (not coincidentally, the 
street date for the first Portland Phoenix.)  Will the real power increase make 
a difference?  The higher audio density alone is filling in some rough spots. 
BTW, the vast number of bright red Phoenix boxes dotting the Maine coast 
is truly impressive; these folks mean business!  Many of the boxes were 
empty, though...
