J.J. Jeffrey to buy WXGL

The Times Record reported on Thursday that J.J. Jeffrey's Atlantic Coast LLC 
has reached agreement to purchase 95.5 WXGL Topsham.  The article says that 
no immediate changes in WXGL's classic rock programming are planned but it 
seems likely that WXGL will end up being simulcast with Jeffrey's other FM, 
95.9 WRED Saco.  What the format of the combination will be is anyone's guess 
but the combination will take two marginal rimshotters and by putting them 
together end up with coverage of much of southern Maine.

Just to blow my own horn: I predicted this purchase a few months ago when it 
was announced that Jeffrey would hold on to WRED, WJAE, and WJJB after the 
sale of Fuller-Jeffrey's stations to Citidel.
