According to a book called "The Nashua Experience in Law Enforcement,"
the Nashua Police Department claimed to be the first NH force to use
radio to communicate with cruisers. They started July 12, 1934 and had
one-way radios installed in five cruisers. The frequency has been lost
to time, though FCC records had it broadcasting at 2.422 MC (123.79
meters) in 1936. They were operating on 39500 AM on 1946 according to
another source.
Interestingly, the cruisers didn't get two-way radios until 1939 and
there was no car-to-car capability until 1950.
